Sea Urchin Pendant 14k Gold Filled

This beautiful specimen of Psamechinus Milliaris from Galicia is a very special natural gem. Selected for its especially beautiful colors, and different tones that mark the pentagon structure of the sea urchin. This specimen is exceptionally rare because it has remains of mini coral attached to it, which is why it has survived a long time under the sea without breaking until it was discovered.

Each hedgehog is hand-picked by me or one of my friends around the world, directly from the beaches and collected in the sand or among the rocks by diving.

This hedgehog measures approximately 17mm, an especially rare size since it is much more common to find much larger adult specimens.

Nature never makes two things the same and that is part of the beauty of these jewels of the sea.

The hedgehogs are filled with a polymer that adheres to the internal walls and makes them unbreakable. The exterior texture is natural, without any type of treatment to maintain the natural appearance of the sea urchin skeleton.

The setting is gold-plated 925 sterling silver, and the front and back plate are 14 karat gold plated. Carefully placed in the two holes of the skeleton, prior to carving the shape to fit the pieces.

Each piece is a unique treasure.
