Sea Urchin Earrings 14k Gold Filled

Extremely rare pair of Australian sea urchins! Natural colors, collected in South Australia by one of my partners. Exclusive pair of hedgehogs for a special occasion. Finished in 14 carat gold plating.

This species of hedgehogs usually has other types of less striking colors, but some specimens fix pigments as particular as these two specimens, which have been selected from hundreds of hedgehogs to form a unique pair.

These beautiful earrings made with miniature sea urchin skeletons, are a very special natural jewel. Each hedgehog is picked by hand by me or one of my friends around the world, directly from the beaches and picked up on the sand or among the rocks diving.

These hedgehogs measure approximately 16mm, an especially rare size since it is much more common to find much larger adult specimens. Here I have paired two small specimens very similar, but not exactly the same. Nature never does two things the same and there is part of the beauty of these jewels of the sea.

Hedgehogs are filled with a polymer that adheres to the inner walls and makes them unbreakable. The exterior texture is natural, without any treatment to maintain the natural appearance of the sea urchin skeleton.

The crimp is made of 925 sterling silver plated in gold, and the front and rear finishing plates are a 14 carat alloy of gold. Carefully placed in the two holes of the skeleton, prior to carving the shape to fit the pieces.

Each piece is a unique treasure.

Rare and exclusive tiny australian sea urchins, natural brown color, collected by one of my partners in south Australia.

In general, this species of sea urchin has other colors which are not sophisticated as this pair, but some specimens get these unique pigments. I've selected among hundreds of urchins, this pair one-off.

This beautiful earrings are made with natural sea urchin shell, tiny ones around 16mm (1/2 inches). I fill them with a special material so the become unbreakable while they keep natural texture and finish.

All our sea urchins are collected by me and my friends around the world, each piece is unique.


The earrings crimp is 925 sterling silver gold plated. The front and is finished in a 14K gold filled bronze disc.
